First of all, this post is not about Zac Efron. It’s about a movie he starred on. Charlie St. Cloud. A 2010 drama film based on Ben Sherwood’s best-selling novel, The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud. It’s about two brothers with a love so strong that no force can separate them. Then a car accident happened one night that lead to a roller coaster kind of story. Revolving around Charlie choosing between keeping a promise he made to his brother, who died in a car accident, or going after the girl he loves. I’m no critic but I really recommend you guys to read the book instead.
What is great about the movie was the inspiring poem by E.E. Cummings. It tugged my heartstrings. That is actually why I still look up to the film. It inspired me to seize every moment; to trust my heart; to take chances and dare never to be trapped in a the past with myriads of regrets. The poem really had a great impact on me, especially on what I’ve been through these past couple of months. Believing in your own dreams and you only is really hard and this poem helped me get through it. That is why I’m sharing this to you guys. For you to be able to stand on your own every time you feel the world is against you. Be brave. Pursue your dreams. Don’t just try. Do it. Opportunities knocks but once.
And here I’m sharing you guys an excerpt of E.E. Cummings poem.
Dive For Dreams
dive for dreams
or a slogan may topple you
(trees are their roots
and wind is wind)
trust your heart
if the seas catch fire
(and live by love
though the stars walk backward)
honour the past
but welcome the future
(and dance your death
away at the wedding)
never mind a world
with its villains or heroes
(for good likes girls
and tomorrow and the earth)
in spite of everything
which breathes and moves, since Doom
(with white longest hands
neating each crease)
will smooth entirely our minds
